Locations and coverage
Dr Qureshi is a Glasgow-based consultant psychiatrist instructed as a civil expert witness throughout Scotland. Assessments are arranged in person in Greater Glasgow, in Edinburgh for Court of Session and Lothian sheriff court work, at agreed venues in other Scottish centres, and remotely by secure video where that is clinically appropriate to the questions asked. This page sets out coverage in outline; each location has its own page with detail on venues, travel and the courts served.
Locations cluster
- Glasgow — In-person consulting base, Priory Hospital Glasgow, courts served across the west.
- Edinburgh — Assessments for Court of Session and sheriff court work in the east.
- Scotland-wide — Coverage of every sheriffdom, from Aberdeen and Dundee to the Highlands and Islands.
- Remote assessments — Secure video assessment, when it is appropriate, and how courts receive it.
How coverage is organised
Instructions are accepted from pursuer and defender agents, insurers, regulatory bodies and occupational health providers anywhere in Scotland, and from agents south of the border where the assessment or evidence is to be given in Scotland. The location of assessment is agreed at instruction stage, alongside the questions to be answered and the material to be reviewed — see instructing a psychiatric expert witness.
Greater Glasgow is the default venue for in-person assessment, reflecting Dr Qureshi's clinical base and the concentration of Scottish civil litigation served from the west. Edinburgh, other Scottish centres and remote assessment by secure video are all available where distance, urgency or the examinee's circumstances make them the better option. What to expect at any assessment, wherever it takes place, is set out under the assessment.
Areas of practice
Coverage of place is only part of the picture: reports are prepared across personal injury, clinical negligence, fitness to practise, capacity and criminal, family and immigration work. The full range is set out under expertise, including personal injury and clinical negligence.
